jonny is a funny guy. funniest guy i ever know. sadly, his father has entered the clearing at the end of the path at 75 years of age. went to his calling hours tonight. there was an excellent bio there for friends to take. read a summary of it after the break.

-BS in Science from BU in 1956, MS from Clark University (Geography) 1972

– began teaching science in hingham 1957, then taught in newton until 1985

– activist for Fair Housing in Quincy, Fair Practices in Randolph, participating member in CORE (congress of racial equality) in the 60’s, committee oxfam america

– life long career as a jazz drummer. played with blue horizon, new black eagle jazz band, and white heat orchestra.

– published poet, had a passion for gardening, cooking, photography, antiquing, and paleontology.

ernie leaves his wife of 51 years, diane. four children, and a load of grandkids.

he was a good guy. we probably wouldn’t have agreed on to much politically, but he didn’t preach stuff, he lived it.

peace, ernie.

  1. sorry to the family for their loss. it sounds like he was a man who touched a lot of lives and will live on through his good works. the one kid of his that i know is pretty kick ass so i have to assume he was a very good father as well as all that stuff.
