SSD*

Brianna had her first soccer game today. I enjoyed it way more than I thought I would. Stoughton does an amazing job with the game. The entire under 6 league practices together in a soccer clinic, rather than team practise. All the kids played each position. Her coach, aptly named “Coach” is great. Knows how to talk to the kids, gives ’em gentle reminders, very encouraging. It was very nice to see. Bri did very well, scoring two out of the four goals ger team racked up.

I did almost bitch slap my soon to be father-in-law when Bri’s team Stoughton Auto Body, aka The Green Team scored against Purple. I said good effort by the goalie. He stated it was not she wasn’t paying attention and look, now she’s crying and some other mindless foolish drivel. I was infuriated, not only was the poor girl’s mother right in front of us (who then tried to explain why she missed it, etc.) it goes completely against what the kids are trying to learn. NOTE – this is not one of the self-esteem attempted given games, they do keep score, and the emphasis is on learning the skills to play and teamwork.
