Sad News

As most of you know, our Uncle John (Corcoran) passed away on Monday. He was in Atlanta visiting his son Charley. There is no wake, or funeral, a memorial service will be tomorrow morning at 10 AM.

Of Somerville, formerly of Woburn, age 69, died unexpectedly, in Duluth, GA, March 22, 2004. He was the longtime companion of the late June Courtney and had a previous marriage to the late Sally Ann (Morey) Corcoran. Devoted father of John F. Corcoran and his wife Laura, of Billerica, Charles E. Corcoran of Duluth, GA, Kevin J. Corcoran of Virginia Beach, VA and the late Cheryl Ann Corcoran. Also survived by 4 loving grandchildren. Brother of Margaret Corcoran of Brooksville, FL, Ellen Blakely of Reading, Mary Phinney of Somerville, William Corcoran of Woburn, Anastasia Corcoran of Saugus and the late Joe and Michael Corcoran. A Memorial Service will be held in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn, Thursday, March 25 at 10:00 AM. Relatives & friends invited. Memorial contributions may be made in John’s name to the Cheryl Ann Corcoran Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Mrs. Maryanne Andrews, Woburn High School, 88 Montvale Ave., Woburn, MA 01801. Our hearts and prayers go out to his children. In the past year alone they have lost their mother, father and unofficial step-mother. People often speak about when one partner dies, the other dies a short time later from a broken heart. I think this must be the case here.

In other shocking news, Margaret is not coming home for the funeral. Apparently Florida is too far to come from when it is only a sibling that dies. Unless your Stasia. or Shannon (whom I had to talk out of trying to come up, new baby et al…)
